UK stockbrokers sign up for defaulters’ database

LONDON -- Three leading UK stockbroking firms were the first to sign up for a new computerised database, DealEx, that enables them to share information on serial defaulters, debtors and fraudsters, said DealEx developers CNM Ltd in June.

DealEx will allow TD Waterhouse Investor Services, Halifax Share Dealing Ltd and mortgage bank Abbey National’s City Deal to share information with each other on clients who have previously broken the terms of their trading agreements.
