China's Bank of Communications gets approval for derivatives business

The Bank of Communications said it has received approval from the China Banking Regulatory Commission to start financial derivatives business.

Bank of Communications, one of China’s largest banks, said in a statement that its derivatives business will include foreign exchange forwards, interest rate and currency swaps and options, and bond futures.

The statement did not specify exactly when the bank will start its derivatives business.
