Facing up to Basel II

The publication of the Basel Committee’s third – and hopefully final – consultation paper on Basel II at the end of April means that Asia’s banks need to now focus on the finer details of the new Accord. With one or two exceptions – notably in the area of credit derivatives – the new paper is expected to be pretty close to the final requirements, due to be published at the end of the year.
