Appointment at Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC)

The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) will see two of its senior officials leave later this year to return to the private sector. Chief operating officer Peter Au-Yang Cheong-yan says he will leave the financial markets watchdog when his contract expires on May 25 to return to the private sector. Before joining the SFC in May 2003, Au-yang spent 18 years at HSBC's investment-banking division. Similarly, Alan Linning, the SFC's director of enforcement, will leave after June 6 to
