CME to launch S&P Asia 50 stock index futures

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) plans to launch in the first quarter of 2006 a futures contract based on the S&P Asia 50 index, an Asian equity index that tracks the 50 largest stocks in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. The contract will be launched exclusively on CME's Globex electronic trading platform, and will be the first contract launched by the exchange following its agreement in September to extend and expand its existing exclusive licensing agreement with Standard & Poor's
