Yet, one in four conducts some form of program trading, one in five connects with 11 or more sell-side partners and one in six is using managed networks to facilitate trading.

Hedge fund institutions are seen as the trailblazers of technology among buy-side institutions and as early adopters of developments such as algorithmic trading
