Jerome Booth of Ashmore Investment Management, said that the emerging market sector of the hedge fund industry remained stable after the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. He says: 'While we are deeply upset by events themselves I am heartened by the lack of kneejerk reaction so far. The emerging debt market has been remarkably resilient.' On the Friday after the attacks, the 14 September, Ashmore's largest fund was valued as less than 2% down. Booth attributes this to the fact that
