Majedie Asset Management was founded in 2002 with the simple aim to make money for its clients, explains Rhiannon Mercer, relationship manager. The name comes from the company’s original backer, Majedie, one of the oldest-quoted investment trusts and a Barclay family investment vehicle.

“We have no aspirations to be a household name,” says Mercer. However, with around £5 billion of assets under management (AUM) and over 90 institutional clients, it is a credible asset manager.
