Prebon plans to open US credit derivatives desk

Inter-dealer broker Prebon Yamane is planning to open a credit derivatives desk in the US, following its setting up of Asia-Pacific and Europe credit derivatives trading desks.

The broker has hired a team of senior brokers from rival GFI in London. These include: Tad Lunborg, Pete Tamaro, John Penfold and Chris Soprano.

In Asia-Pacific, Prebon set up its credit derivatives desk in Sydney with Craig Smyth, Scott Tatham and Kevin Spencer. This desk was set up in July and now employs eight people.
